Alleviating compaction, whether grassland or arable, in order to restore soil health not only enables the physical entry of air and water, it provides the optimal environment for the soil microbes - essential for plant health and soil structure. Who knew that something so tiny, could be so vital?

When we are faced with anaerobic compacted lifeless soil, we need to kick start its recovery in a sensitive but productive way:

Alleviate compaction, using a no till approach with minimal surface disturbance to make the soil more porous. Using the Slot & Shatter Effect of Aerworx aerators the soil is fractured and opened up down to 30 cm when used in the correct conditions. Little soil is exposed so soil carbon is retained and the soil food web minimally disturbed.

Make management changes such as maximising the efficiency of each vehicle pass; adopting grazing patterns that facilitate root health; use of deep root tapping plants in sward/ cover crop mixes.

Innoculate the soil with microbes that are naturally found in our soils, to aid the transition back to full soil health until microbes can then flourish and multiply. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
So how does BioWorx work?
BioWorx is a next-gen biological product containing a unique and synergistic set of microbial species that occur naturally in healthy soils.
The “ trade agreement” between plant and microbes is the synergistic relationship whereby roots supply energy to the micro-organisms in the form of root exudates and the bacteria efficiently provide accessible nutrients for the plant. This process has evolved over millions of years!

At a concentration if 2BB CFU /g the microbes have been vacuum dried onto sustainably UK sourced seaweed flakes.
